The aim of this group project was to create a film and space that evokes the feeling of joy and takes the customer on their own joyful journey. Inspired by the film ‘Lost in Translation’ by Sofia Coppola, our brief was to create a fashion film to promote All We Are Jewellery
Embracing inner beauty, being yourself and dancing the night away.
Creating a new identity for All We Are, enabling them to reach a new consumer.
This brief allowed me to work in a team to create a fashion film alongside a promotional campaign. My photography and videography strengths flourished within this project, allowing me to show my creativity and editing skills.
Our group received the highest grade in the year and special features on many future presentations given by the lecturers and the client.
From research into All We Are themselves we found out that as a brand they were interested in promoting PEOPLE wearing their jewellery rather than it being gender specific. We chose this insight to focus our film around.
From finding an insight to focus on, we decided we wanted someone who defied gender norms. This expressing the idea of the jewellery being for anyone.
Linking this with Lost in Translation, we focused on the colours and overarching themes within the film, such as the famous karaoke scene. starting with a mellow temperament and cool colour palette and ending with fun and expressive dancing with a much warmer tone.
